This past weekend, I was able to not only relax, but also
have a day where I didn’t have to be anywhere. I started my Friday off by going
out to dinner with a group of friends. One of the individuals in the group was
wearing a cow costume around to create a video to help promote an upcoming
event. Yes, I did say a cow costume. They wanted me to sit with the cow and act
like I was on a date. This was a little strange, but I agreed to help them out,
even if it was some of the most awkward minutes of my life. Once I finally got
back to Ada after dinner, I was asleep by 9:30 p.m. and could not have felt any better about
this decision.
The next morning, I had to get up and be in to work around
9:30 a.m. for the media, as they were attending one of our events. After an
hour I then headed over to Meijer to go grocery shopping because I was
completely out of food. When I got back home, I was ready to sit down and watch
the Michigan State versus Wisconsin football game. Unfortunately, my team
played horribly and there wasn’t much of a game to watch. The remainder of my
day was spent either on the couch or in bed watching TV shows and movies on
Netflix. Saturday night I was asleep by
11 p.m., and couldn’t have been happier about that decision.
Now that Sunday had finally rolled around, it was time for
me to be a productive student and get work done. The minute I got up I started
reading to prepare for my classes on Monday and Tuesday. Even though I could
have gotten more work done on Saturday, I enjoyed my day of rest and relaxation
and think it was exactly what I needed, especially after two very filled
weekends.
