I’m an Alpha Xi….

This past weekend was initiation weekend. Our chapter initiated 14 fully new sisters on Sunday
morning. The beginning of the week started off with a variety of different events, where big sisters would craft different things to give to their little sister on each night. This week is called inspiration week.

Saturday was pre initiation. During this night we take our annual Christmas photo along with just spending time with our new members before they become initiated sisters. During this night the little sister will give their big sister crafts they have been creating throughout the week. After some time, the only individuals left in the house are the big and little sisters as they create their initiation plaque together.

Sunday morning comes around and its initiation time. By noon we had 14 new sisters. During this time there are many photos taken, especially since all families couldn’t be more excited to show off their newest initiated sister.

After all the photos have been taken, it’s time to go eat. My family went to Texas Roadhouse, where we all ate a large amount of food, especially the freshly buttered rolls. We use this time to get to know a little more about our newest initiated family member as well as catch up on each other’s lives. I am excited for these 14 new sisters and all the possibilities they have in front of them.
