Family and Football

On Saturday, my dad, brother and I left our house around 8 a.m. for East Lansing. My dad and I had planned on going to the game since September, and didn't realize how huge of a game it was going to be until the weekend before. The game was a 3:30 p.m. and arrived in East Lansing around 9:30 a.m. with some family friends and their family to tailgate. While wasting time before we had to head over to the game, we played corn hole, watched the Michigan vs, Ohio State game and made some new friends. Once all our food was all packed up, we started to head over to the stadium around 3 p.m., so we would make it in time for kick off.

After the fifteen minute walk to the field, we finally arrived. The next struggle was trying to figure out where we needed to go in, as there were people everywhere you looked. My dad and I finally arrived at our seats, just as both teams were entering the field. Even though it was kind of a blow out of a game, it was a good win and fun time. During halftime, I decided to make a trip to the bathroom, even though the bathroom was right down stairs, it took me 16 of the 20 minutes you get during halftime. At the end of the game, we then had to make the fifteen minute walk back to the car. The walk back was brutal as it was cold and windy. At this moment I was wishing we had a closer parking spot,

We finally arrived home around 9 p.m. and I couldn't have been more excited to not only sit down, but go and take a nice long and hot shower. The day was spent with family and friends and I couldn't have had a better time. This trip reminded me of how thankful I am for my family and how nice it is to spend quality time with them. The trip was made even better with a Spartan victory and I am hoping for another victory this weekend in Indianapolis against Iowa. I wish I was able to make the trip this weekend, but with finals and all the work I need to get done, the trip isn't possible. For now I will be watching the game from my couch and cheering loudly. As always Go Green!
